Friday

Winter Fairytale

Happy Friday guys! I guess alot of you will spend some time doing some Christmas shopping this weekend, most of mine has been done through the computer this year, and I gotta say it's alot easier than dragging 4 children around the stores! If you do have some time this week though I would love to have you play along with me at the Clearly Inspired Challenge. It's happening right now over at Lori's blog so you can click on the badge to come see what it's all about. It took me awhile to get mine posted because after I had I went back and tried to do more picture's. These aren't real great, as alot of you know it can be a pain and hard to capture the real demention and sparkle in a photograph, but my second attemp at pictures looked worse. Oh well. If you click and enlarge you can tell better. The theme this week is winter. Pretty simple right? And you can knock any last Christmas cards off of you to do list! If you don't have any Clear Dollar Stamps that's ok you can still play, maybe you'll win some to use in the next challenge! ;)
So for my card I used one of the pixie/fairies in my Playful Pixies set. It wasn't made to be a Christmas set but I thought this mouse would be perfect, so I typed up the sentiment on my computer. Sorry, wish I had thought to put it in the set! The only thing I debated was to do the dress in red and used traditional Christmas colors or to go with the icy blue colors. I decided the icy blue to me would look more magical, so blue it was. To get the different shades in the same tone I used only bashful blue paper and sponged the different panels going from very heavy to light. Then they were all embossed in the same folder. I also heat embossed the all of the edges in silver. The back ground piece isn't sponged but just stamped in the sparkle stamp that comes in the set. I don't usually show the inside of my cars but because this stamp was so fun to use I wanted to show it. Silly I know, the things that we sometimes find joy in, LOL! This could be why my oldest thinks I'm such a dork! :)
