Wrapping up Halloween!

It's getting late to get those Halloween cards done so I made this one quickly by using the pre-colored version that came in this set, (shh! don't tell!, LOL!) there is also a line art version included. I love to color but sometimes just run out of time! I think the embossing folder added a lot of drama and made it look like I spent more time on it than I actually did. Trick or Treat!

I love the little pumpkin costumes at Halloween, so at least I got to color one, my daughters always want to be Princesses, LOL! Pumpkins are not quite fancy enough for them! I colored her with Prisma Pencils. I pulled some old scrap dp from my stash and added raffia as an accent, I think it makes a great natural alternative to ribbon for fall! HSC5 Everlasting Flower

Hello, Welcome! Today I wanted to share a Sympathy or Praying For You card I made with this AMAZING cross digi by Sue McMahon. It is called Everlasting Flower. It is by far one of the most beautiful cross images I have ever seen and I've been wanting to do something with it for awhile. My mom and nana are always asking me do I have any sympathy cards and, if your familiar with my Illustrations you know it's not usually the kind of images I do sothis one was a must have for my image collection! I used the inspiration from our new challenge HSC5- LASER CUT DETAILS. You can check it out and play along here!

The Humming Bird New Release AND a Freebie!

I made this card using my new image called The Hummingbird. It comes in both png and jpg but I used the png version so it would be transparent and I layered it over this sentiment from The Poetry of Birds FREEBIE! I set the opacity to 35 or 45%, I can't remember for sure then I kept my coloring light so it all faded into the background behind the verse. I used Prisma pencils and OMS, gorgeous cherry wood paper from M5D and champagne colored pearls. I think it looks more complicated than it is because it was a really really quick card to make! Another CAS? What has gotten into me?!

I think lately I've seen so many inspiring CAS cards and to be honest I loooove my detailed cards but so rarely get time for them lately with so much going on. Soooo
lately it has been fun to challenge myself to see what I can whip up really fast and it is a big stress reliever to be able to just make something fun that I don't have to worry about getting time to finish! This week the CAS CHALLENGE ON SCS was a sketch, I loved the sketch so yesterday I did this card using the image from the post below, I just cropped it in on this card! And I used the coordinating dp in a different color variation. all available at McMahon Five Designs! I also did this following the challenge at The Hotspoit to use recycled materials (earthday!) Two post in one day! Yup! This is a fun card I whipped up for the MMSC, I'm barely getting it in on time but I really liked the sketch! I used a bow instead of the flower on top but it works and I hope that was ok? I used the Best Friend image that released last week with the coordinating digi papers in Breezy Blue Stripes and Daisies!

Really Quick Post/Really Quick Card!

I was on SCS this morning and was going through the CAS gallery and was just feeling inspired to create a quick fun card with today challenge, it was a sketch. I used my Hey Sweet Thang set, I used the accessory images instead of the main image on my card and watercolored it with SU markers and Pearlx. The image is on

New Release-Princess Cupcake, 2 Yummy Cards!

I love cupcakes, I can't have to many cupcake images, digis, stamps, REAL cupcakes! Especially the ones loaded with icing like this heavenly little PRINCESS CUPCAKE! This is definitely not a case where less is more, not for me! I decided to enter these in a few challenges this week, I'll list them off at the bottom, My favorite of the two is the pink card, I like the simple color combo, it's definitely more my style. The other card, I guess turned out pretty cute because both of my daughters prefer it imagine that,LOL, can we say *sparkle* overload! :) It's way out of the box for me that's for sure! I don't think I've ever made such a pastel looking card, but there is a first for everything! I used pearlx and prisma pencils on both cards and made a paper "button" on the pink. Sworovski crystals embellish the pastel card. That's it for this week, you guys all have a great one!

4 "Trash" Art Projects for HSC3! What Can You Make with Your Trash?!

Hello All! This month at the Hotspot challenge we are celebrating Earth Day by using "trash" on our projects, it's really fun to see what you can create out of trash besides a big dirty pile! And rewarding too! I know that alone isn't going to save our planet but every little bit helps right? I have four projects to share with you, yeah, you heard me right four! Hard to believe I would be posting four at once huh? but the thing is once I started trying to think of what trash I could recycle or repurpose the idea's just kept coming! I think given enough time I copuld have done 20! Ahhh, but the clock is always tickin' so here are my four...

Who knew you could get such beautiful "dp" from a used Pizza box? To be exact an Archer Farms cheese pizza box! Target's brand I think. I thought the traditional pattern and colors were perfect for The Heart of a Dragon image, it really goes with the whole medieval look that I was going for I think. I did the reverse of what you would normally do here and used the sentiments as the main image and did an accent tag using the dragon. This spellbinders Label reminded me of a shield so I used it to cut out my Dragon.


This one was super easy, it's really much cuter in person. when I realized the raised pattern in the glass at the top of the bottle looks just like the pattern on the decorated egg plus the shape of this bottle I knew of all of the bottles in my stash of bottles this was the one for this project! Yes, I'm admitting I'm a bit of a hoarder when it comes to glass bottles and jars, they are just so handy and we have hardly any cups at our house with four kids they just keep getting broken so we are just about down to nothing but my beloved jars, honestly they are much less likely to tip over and brake than cups anyway, LOL! I used the Easter Bunny image on here and filled the bottle with M&M's!



this card has been a year in the making! Can you believe it? I started it last year and before I got it done Easter was over :( This is the Egg Hunt image. I ended up scraping the original card base so that there would be room for these flowers I handmade from, guess what? My used coffee filters! Yup, you heard right! They have a beautiful aged color from the coffee that worked really well with my card. I rinsed them and sat them out in the sun to dry and freshen them,they are cut from one of the Spellbinder Blossom dies. Really a fun project!


On this card I used for my "dp" a section cut from the case that a 12 pack of Fresca was in. I thought the pattern was really cool and when I was trying to decide on an image to use realized that it matched the pattern on this egg from the Hatching Eggs set perfectly! Score! :)

Hatched Up Invites!

Good afternoon! I whipped up a couple of party invitations this week using my new Hatching Eggs set. I'm going to give these to my mom or my Nana to use for the egg hunt they are planning this year. I just stacked the egg image on top of the party invite verse and hit print. The brightly colored one I cropped down a strip of the digi dp which coordinates with the precolored version to add a little accent. On the brown one(my personal favorite, of course!) I used prisma pencils to color the eggs and add some speckles. I started to add glitter to the bright one but, I got lazy :)I should not admit that, still I think it turned out pretty cute! These were really quick and simple and would be really easy to do in mass for a party and I'm thinking I should do some matching place cards, what do you think? HSC2 A Threefer!

Hey guys! How are you all? Great hope! We started a new challenge yesterday at The Hotspot and ths month our challenge s to use the many unforgettable looks of Halle Berry on the red carpet as inspiration, not much of a challenge really it's pretty easy to be inspired by almost anything she puts on! In fact I really had a hard time narrowng down the list of dresses and then picking which to use for my card. So I went ahead and used 3! You will find all of the images I used at McMahon Five Designs, they are Sweet Dreams and Molly Clowning Around, by me! And this dainty swirly Butterfly by Sue! For The Love of Nature....

Hello ladies! I know it's been awhile (the story of my life!)instead of trying to explain what I've been up to I'll try to post some pictures about it soon! Besides everyday life with 4 girls, one teething, she has decide to get all of her teeth at once, not really but almost! This is a card I did last week, if you get the M5D newsletter you may have seen it already, if not this is made using my newest DP collection and is called Spring Blossoms and Butterflies. If so I hope you enjoy the other pics! I used the blue but it also comes in a pink and green color scheme. I also used the Cherry Blossom and Butterflies digi to create the little butterfly embellishments and the sentiment released the week before, one of my favorite quotes from Van Gogh called If You Truly... To dress it up a little I spritzed the paper with Tsukineko Pssst! Sheer Shimmer Spritz in Frost and added a few Zva Creative pearls.

HSC1 Fairy Flowerchild...um Flowerfrog? Au Naturel!

This is my card for for our brand new fresh challenge, I really hope you get a chance to play, I love this one. I'm an earthy girl, well sort of,in the sense that I like things clean (as in design, I could do better in the cleanliness dept. with 4 kiddos!),simple and natural, unpretentious. Not earthy in the sense that I like dirt, I can't stand getting dirty really or diggin in the dirt, sand I'm good with, dirt not so much! It just fels ...gross and dry. Anyhoo....So this is my card I've combined many natural elements on it, starting with my base which is one of my favorite of M5D's wooden papers, it is Wenge Wood and it has a natural striation and I love stripes. Really amazing in person it is very flexible and exotic! I cut it into 1.5 inch stips and mitered the corners as I usually do with stripe paper, it is especially effective with this wood paper because it really looks like a frame! I've also used some dried flowers and I tied the flowers on with yet another natural element, twill tape and chocolate colored raffia. My dp has a natural look to go with the theme, it is Origins from Basic Gray and I die cut some butterflies out of it to hover around my flowers. The image I used is Flower Fairy Vertie and it is colored in Prisma Pencils. I'm really liking the way it turned out, even though I don't normslly like things so busy it really reminds me of my childhood. I guess it has that kind of 70's vibe with the colors and patterns. And my mom once took me to pick cocaburrs in our woods and we cut out little paper wings to glue on them and stuck them to our clothes. they looked like little butterflies and bee's, that is what these dried flowers remind me of. Also if you flick the back of the card the tiny tiny butterfly I glued to the flower on the right looks like it's fluttering around (it's the little things that amuse me the most!);)Thanks for stopping by, I hope you get a chance to check us out at the Hotspot this month! Awww, Love Is So Sweet!

A quick and simple Valentine card using this cute couple from my Mellow Out set. Aren't they the sweetest? I Again I took several pictures to try to show the fantastic sparkly Cryogen White paper from the Paper Temptress. The lighting wasn't quite cooperating with me this morning. But in person it definitely adds to the depth and is really beautiful. It also helped add a realistic appearance to my Heart digi charm.
