Charlie Praying

Hey guys! I'm drowning here! It has rained and rained, but it feels sunny to me! :) Hope your weekend has started off great, mine has. I'm pregnant but last night I slept through the whole night without waking up once!!! For the first time in months,It was awesome! Ok, down to the more important things, I've got two more cards posted today with February Stamps from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS, if you don't have this stamp already you're going to love it, it is so sweet! And it's charlie, who doesn't love him? I've shown two versions of using this stamp one very quick to do and easy to achieve. The other a little more difficult but still with patience and time on your hands anybody could do it!

On the simlper version I wanted it to look clean and soft so I went for a very pure tone on tone color scheme. To keep it from looking to bland I used a lot of texture. The swiss dot embossing folder and this very beautiful handmade ivory fiber paper (which you can get at CDS!) did the trick. The fiber paper almost looks like lace on top of the white cardstock and these handmade papers bring a lot of luxury to the look of a card.

What I did/used on the ivory card:

stamps: Charlie Praying

ink/markers:versamark, brown ep, creamy caramel, pretty in pink, galaxy gold, gold pearl x, sealer

cardstock:lynx white, watercolor paper, very vanilla, brushed gold, specialty paper from Clear Dollar Stamps

acessories and tools:silk flowers, pearls, organdy ribbon,(all from hobby lobbby), sewing machine, glue dots, dimensionals

The other card Charlie "Angel" was a little more complicated but still not so hard that anybody couldn't do it, it is just a lot of steps and takes quite a bit more time! Everything in silver except for the smallest stars was heat embossed with silver EP 3 times to get a really thick metallic look. The wings were embossed in silver EP on vellum (they are from another CDS set called Sweet Jesus). The halo was shaped from craft wire. Charlie was stamp multiple times and embossed in black EP. After I painted him I brushed him with silver pearl x to give him an "angelic glow". You may not be able to tell on the comp. but he has also been shaped or sculpted a little to give him more dimension. It is similar to dry embossing. The clouds at the bottom were free handed drawn, painted and cut.The swoosh of stars (that sounds kinda funny but I don't know how else to describe it!) were cut free hand and layered. I made a cloud stencil and sponged white craft and navy ink the embossed with the silver EP. The stamp is called Hoofin It, it is so great with the Charlie stamps! I put it on a wheel and rolled it across the cloud layer. The thing I love about wheels is it gives you the ability to curve the stamp rather than a straight border.
