Day two of sneak Peeks and Today is Patchpal's & Messages

Good morning again, I'm back for day two of sneak peeks and get to show you some samples of a new series I have being released June 1st called Patchpal's and Patchpal Messages. I'm showing you the cards I did with the elephant and the giraffe. I used words from the Patchpal Messages stamp on both of my cards. Of course these sets are great for children and babies, but I think they are really for children of all ages. The other DT members have mostly (but not all!) done some really really adorable baby and children's cards out of these so I tried to take a different approach and used some of the sentiments that were more age neutral.
( Does that even make sense?) You get lot's of opportunity to play with color and pattern with these stamps and I love that! They were inspired by the toys I'm constantly tripping over as I walk through my house! ;) It seems like most of the toys these days have slightly larger heads so that has kinda rubbed off on me and my drawing style, since this is what I'm surrounded by night and day! It kinda makes things look a little fun and quirky. And I love the old handmade toys done from fabric scraps so out of these inspirations was born the Patchpals! Hope you like them!

I used paper from K&Co. on both of my sample cards today, the one on the giraffe is from a stack called Urban. I really love the colors in this paper pack. I added some texture with a cb folder to the bottom panel and added in some hand drawn and painted leaves which were cut out and have layered flowers punched from some coordinating dp with a SU flower punch. It's really distressed and machine sewn. I wanted it to look kinda earthy and safari like. I've been really into using my tiny Swarovski bling lately with my sentiments to balance out the words and add a little bit of sparkle. I did that here and on one of the princess cards I posted for sneak peeks yesterday.

The paper I used on the elephant card is so fun and perfect I though for the stamp so I was really excited about that. It is from a stack called Laundry Line, and it is so sparkly, LOVE it! I matched the dots and stripes on the elephant to the dots and stripes in the dp and added a panel with the swirl folder because if you have dot's, spot's and stripe's the only thing your missing is the swirls right? I also added some stickles on the background of the elephant to match the glittery dp. I used metallic thread too. In person it is SPARKLY! I added dew drops and a curved banner to balance out the layout. A lot of you may already know this fun fact but it is new to me and I was thrilled by it. THRILLED like a kid learning to blow a bubble for the first time! I know, I'm a dork my 13 year old will back me up on this but here is the thing. The words happy and birthday are actually straight but being flexible CLEAR stamps you can shape them and they will stick to the block that way. I found this out experimenting. Endless possibilities! I also added stickles and a tiny scrap of gingham ribbon to the banner and the finishing touches were done!
That's all for today folks! I'll be back in a couple of days to post some BLOG CANDY for this month so stay tuned! I'll be giving away some stamps from my new releases, you'll just have to wait to see which one's ! ;) With lots of other goodies. I also have a Lamb, Puppy and Piggy being previewed today by some of the other DT member's, all marvelous, fun and colorful! Every time I see our new releases in full color I think we have got one rockin DT! Here are the others previewing these stamps today: Cassie, Linda, Sarah, Laurie, Katie, Tori, Candy (on Lori's blog) and Stacy. Their links are in the sidebar under CDS DT. Some other stamps you can catch a peek of today are Peony and Card Directions so have fun hopping around. Thanks for stopping in here today!
