Cupcake Fun, Mini Tutorial and Color Throwdown

Cheesy title, I know, I just could get more creative this morning! I have moved my blog candy to a link in my side bar, if you haven't signed up already there is still time! I made this card using the new set Lori and Laurie created to celebrate CDS 5 years of business. It is such a cute fun set to use, you should check out the whole set at the store. It comes with alot of great stamps! Also I finally got to squeeze in a card for the Color Throwdown challenge which I love, their colors are always so inspiring. It is the first time I've actually gotten to play! I thought these colors would be great for this stamp. I'm also using this weeks sketch from SCS which I just noticed happened to be my teammate Dawn Burnworth's original Sketch. Yay, Dawn! I love it!
Everything was paper pieced this time, no painting at all. I did do some sponging to give the paper more depth. I took a few pictures to show you how I did the top of the cupcakes. I'm not sure you would call this a tutorial. But anyway, they were a lot of fun to do! And it looks so sparkly in real life, you can tell better if you enlarge the pictures.

What you would need is your stamped image, Scor Tape sheet, Glitter (I used doodlebug designs sugar coating In choclate)and bugle beads.Dark ink is better so you can see through the scor-tape.

stick the sheet over image and cut out. This is why dark works better. You can do any detail cutting after you pull off the top layer but it is harder because it sticks to the scissors.

Next you will stick your bugle beads were you want them.

Then you will pile on the glitter!

Wa La done. So easy I'm not sure it's really a tutorial but it was fun so just thought I would share!

Hi Shawn!! THIS IS FABULOUS!! Love your card--everything about it from the colors, to stitching to the pop dotted cuppycakes with sprinkles! Awesome card and tutorial--thanks!

And thank you so much for your comment today! I do have another blog just for family that doesn't show comments, but I just have a few on my card blog. That's why it's sooo annoying that I'm getting spam and actual "rude" comments on JUST my few family posts on my card blog... like on my little girl's birthday etc. :(
They also found their way to my cake blog and left some "notes" there too. So uncalled for.

Anyway, here's hoping you have a LOVELY spam-rude comment-FREE weekend!! :) HA!
