Mmmmm, smells sweet!
Good morning! I have a really simple but fun and useful project to share with you today. I used my new release called The Oak Tree In Winter for this, other things you would need to create this would be Thick Vellum paper (I used Via Vellum-Jute, it has a beautiful natural fibery appearance), scented oil (mine is Bath and Body Works Vanilla Caramel), Prisma pencils and a Febreeze Luminary. Well, I'm no chemist or rocket scientist but I've noticed that the OMS I use with my Prisma pencils seems to be an oily substance so as I was getting ready to color my image which I had printed onto vellum when Bella had a dirty diaper (shewwy!!!) I know your wondering what does this have to do with anything? Right? Well I got out my Febreeze Luminary to get rid of the diaper smell but it was out of scent so I was going to douse the refill (the paper shade part) with some of my scented oil to refresh it and make my house smell nice again. Then it hit me "hmmmm, wonder if this oil would blend my pencils instead of OMS". So I tested it out and it did! Cool, I have to say about the smell(not the diaper, the oil, lol!) at first was like mmmm, this is great I'm coloring and it smells wonderful unlike the OMS smell. I know it's suppose to be oderless but really it's not. But by the time I was done my eyes were starting to burn and it was getting strong. (Keep in mind I color with my face about 3 inches from my paper! But now I'm left with a beautiful Luminary, the smell has mellowed out and it now is just right! This Vellum works great because of the transparent quality and the feel, you can leave it as tall as you like but you need to score it every 3 inches and will need to put in a 3 in. wide piece in the back. I also covered my Febreeze base with Curly Maple paper from M5D and sponged it with cocoa and choc. ink so it would go better with my image than the black.
