Chloe's Birthday card

My baby just turned five, I can hardly believe this much time has past! I decided this year to start making special cards just for my girls. I don't know why it seems like the most important people in my life get overlooked. I'm embarrassed to admit it but I'm trying to make some changes in my life, prioritize I guess. What is that old saying? The shoemakers wife never has shoes?

Chloe's favorite color is blue so when I asked her what kind of card she wanted, she said blue! I think you guys know what I meant by what kind but she didn't so I said " OK Chloe, but, I mean what do you want on it?" To that she said " a pink bow" So those were my only requirements and that it be simple enough to get done in just a few hours! With things going on and getting ready for her party time was short!

I chose this blue paper from Basic Gray's Urban Prairie pad. I think this paper alone is so beautiful that I hated to cover it up with to many layers or embellishments. Which is a good thing being short on time. I added just some tiny mulberry flowers from Oriental trading with Swarovski crystal centers, a butterfly cut from coordinating paper and stickles to the paper for embellishments. It was sewn on machine and paper pierced for a little more interest. There was a blank area in the pattern where I added a banner shaped layer, I wish it had shown more because I really liked the shape with the theme of the stamp and the swirly CB folder but I don't have the smaller nestabilities and the next size down in the large set was to small. Still I think the scallop circle is perfect for this stamp. The pink bow I might have left off but how do you say no to a sweet little princesses request?

The adorable and very girly stamp from Clear Dollar Stamps I knew I had to have the minute I saw it! With 3 daughters how could I resist? I'm sure it will get a lot of use! In fact I think I'll do the same stamp for Tia's birthday only in purples, her favorite color. Luckily this stamp is beautiful on it's own and didn't need a lot of layering, as I said time was short! It is layered once which makes a big difference. I added silver glitter paint to the swirls and crystal effects to the hearts. Also to the wheels which have crystals in the center.I added glitter around the edges to finish it off because I didn't have time to sew it on. I struggle a little with the machine, and circles have to be done by hand! There wasn't room to add two sizes for my layered circle so instead I curled up the edges of the one on top so that I could still get the layered look.

Stickles were added everywhere because you know with little girls the more glitter, the sparkleyier the better! solid CS, ink and ribbon from SU.

Something that she will treasure for a lifetime and right from Mommy's heart! She will also always have the sweet story behind it right here on your blog. It's a very beautiful card. I should follow your wise words and prioritize my own life.
