I'm Finally Back With a Card to Post and It's For A Challenge Too!

Hey there friends, thank you all so much for coming by to check in and visit me, I've missed you all so much! Why does life sometimes get in the way of our card making obsession? I'm just kidding! Really! I love life, I need to make more time for it, after all that's where inspiration comes from right? Why can't our days be 48 hours instead of 24? I've had lots going on, I'll get into that later. But it's all good! I know you are all busy too and know where I'm coming from. On to my card....You know for some reason I seem to distress everything, my house is this way to. Maybe so when the kids dirty or scratch something it's not so obvious?! LOL! No really I love the warm, cozy, lived in feeling too. The fact that it disguises wear and tear is just a plus. Could be one reason I love Basic Gray. That is the paper that inspired this card, the pattern reminds me of a cracked egg. I just pulled all of the colors from there. The yellow back ground dp was handstamped w/ some extra stamps that come with this new set called Your My Peep. I colored in the butterflies with prisma pencils, then sponged it with cream acrylic paint. Next I wadded the paper up into a ball [(gasp!), I know :) , sometimes it's fun to be bad!], then used a sponge to go over the ball with chocolate ink, hitting just the wrinkles the stick out. Unwadded it , ironed it so it would lay flat and continued as usual! It really doesn't take as long as you might think. Other dp is from SU and the buttons are Basic Gray. Hopefully it won't be so long next time before we meet again.
Challenges on this card:
(my favorite!) Clearly Inspired-Hip To Be Square, any square project (how simple is that? so run! go play! you have a week and are entered to win a stamp set of your choice!)

Cute Card Thursday- use ribbon (mine has ribbon for the Leaves of my button flowers)

Raise the Bar- increments of three (I have 3 buttons)

This is so gorgeous, Shawne. . .wow, I've missed seeing your work. It's funny that you joke about 'life getting in the way', because earlier today I sat down to make a card and at that very moment my daughter came in with a question about math. I was frustrated at first, but then realized what a blessing it really is to be able to teach her. If I can sneak a couple of minutes here or there for cards, then I'm happy. Someday the kids will grow up and move out, but I need to take advantage of them being here now. Have a wonderful day, Shawne, and thanks so much for always inspiring me ;D

Wow, I love your colouring and piecing. The background paper is wonderful. I often forget that we can make our own. Much more creative and you can use the colours specific to the project. Thanks for the reminder.
